Ashlee Podcast

This is my Podcast about the Hunger Games Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins here is my podcast. Enjoy!

TC at PE Samoa

TC at PE
The TC students that are apart of the Samoan group for Polyfest came to PE to showcase their talent but also to inspire us for our upcoming Fia Fia event. They put on a show in the beginning and middle of assembly.

The performance was inspiring and awesome. Watching them do their songs and dance was interesting because of their smiles, hand and feet movement but most of all their voices. After watching the performance it brang tears to some of the teachers and students eyes.

When our principle finished watching and wiping his tears away he said that for the Samoan group for Fia Fia, Some of the TC students would help them to do their best by doing a workshop. That’s why after assembly the senior Samoan Group had to stay behind for there new Samoan tutors.

Thank-you TC Samoans for coming to our school to inspire us to try hard and do our best in our Fia Fia groups. You really did succeed. Tsouf Sofia.

If you would like to see how Inspiring and Brilliant here is a link to the performance.

Show not tell setting

Waking up from a deep sleep I see a little tint of light from under my door. Walking towards my bedroom door I open it with only half an eye open to see a light was on in the toilet.  “ Nothing to worry about no burglars,” I say to myself while returning back to my cozy bed. I lay there for a while listening to the music that's emerging from the speakers next door. I can hear voices and music continuing  “What is going on? “ I say to myself.

I walk towards my window with despair thinking that I’m not going to go to sleep. I touch the window pain and can feel how wet it is I breath on the window making a ghost. Suddenly the wind starts to go whoosh swaying the trees from side to side. Running back to my bed I quickly slide under the covers digging my toes into the mink blanket. I could tell that it was the middle of winter

Banning Cars in Paris

The French government has made a law that people who own cars can only drive it on certain days. The specific law is that drivers with uneven license plates will drive on one day and drivers with even license plates will drive on the other day.

Basically they made this law to stop the pollution in paris. Because the pollution rates are really high and they want to try and solve it by taking half of the cars of the street. They have tried one day with the new law.

They organised this by putting a meeting together and making advertisements for the residents of paris but most of all for the drivers who own cars. When the law was tested they thought it was a good idea but for some reason they didn’t continue.

Now in Paris the cars are running as usual and maybe the pollution rates. Hopefully if you visit Paris it won’t be polluted and it will be the usual city. Bye

Fia Fia

Fia Fia Woooh. Ladies and Gentlemen put your hands together for the 2014 Fia Fia night. Each year the school throws a Fia Fia night to showcase the students talent and to connect them with their culture. Of course there is other groups like hip hop and jump jam that are not culture groups. This event takes place at Point England School mostly every year.

Each student at Point England has to take pick a group that they would like to be apart of. They then have to go to practices once a week but when it close to the day the practice's will double and then the week off the day the practices will be nearly every day for rehearsals and for the stage set up. On Wednesday now that the practices have finished the only thing to do is wait until six o'clock to go and perform at seven.

Walking to the courtyard you could see the big stage on the field. It was crowded with more than 1 thousand people all buying food and settling down to watch the performances. The delicious aromas was tingling my nose as the food stalls had been selling their food. The night was hectic until the show started.

All the kids had to go and get ready for their performances. Over the intercom Mr Burt said that it was five minutes until the show so we started to line up and walk towards the stage. My favourite was precisely that because it was funny and all of the performers were in time with each other. Good job Mr S and Mr Barks great choreography.

Fia Fia night has come and gone and has left the parents and students with joy filled hearts. The performances were great and now the school is just recovering from the late nights and awkward days without practises. Thanks for watching if you came and for reading! ^_^
